About Me.

Hi, I’m Gabriela!

Born and raised in the vibrant city of Miami, Florida, to Cuban immigrants, I've been a dynamic force in secondary education (grades 6-12) for nearly a decade, passionately dedicated to supporting at-risk populations. As both an educator and a modernizing school library media specialist, I've consistently driven engagement and literacy initiatives, even securing grants for innovative resources like flexible seating and classroom pets. My proactive approach extends to impactful community partnerships, most recently with Books & Books, resulting in a school visit and book donation from renowned author and animal advocate Ron Magill. I've also led teacher training and developed digital learning resources, always striving to create inclusive and empowering environments.

Beyond education, my entrepreneurial spirit led me to establish year of the rat, and I'm thrilled to share that I've recently secured my first brand pop-up events happening next month, a testament to my passion and drive. This venture, along with my personal interests in fashion, film, femininity, photography, and counterculture (queer and punk), fuels my creative spirit.

A strong advocate for the arts and humanities in education, I'm driven to create content that is not only informative and engaging but also creatively infused and culturally aware. Outside of work, you can usually find me hanging out with my awesome husband, our two pups, Doom and Gloom, and our surprisingly vigilant guard rabbit, Morty (short for Morticia)! We're big fans of cheesy horror movies-if you couldn’t tell, and love hitting the road (and trails) for adventures. I'm particularly interested in exploring content creation for the education, fashion, film, and book industries, leveraging my diverse experiences and creative passions to craft compelling copy and engaging narratives.

I'm a passionate go-getter ready to bring a unique and dynamic perspective to your content needs. Let's connect!
